INTERNAL TEAMS HANDICAP TOURNAMENT

by on 12/12/11 at 6:38 pm

Friday the 9th December saw the last of the matches played in the Internal Teams Tournament which has been a resounding success thanks to Ray Grimes brainwave and organisation (which you would expect from an ex head teacher) and as he frequently reminds us Proper Planning Prevents P… Poor Performance! Everyone who has taken part has thoroughly enjoyed themselves (which was quite evident from the volume of the ladies team support) and so nice to see the club busy again on Friday nights which was reflected in the bar takings. There were 6 teams of 4 with matches held over a 5 week period and a trophy for the winning team, which was won by (surprise! surprise!) Ray Grimes’s Team! It was good to have a Ladies team which was made up predominantly of the ladies Squashacise class and as already mentioned they all enjoyed the experience. The committee would like to thank Ray for his idea and commitment to see it come to fruition and it is hoped that we can repeat the performance again next year with 8 teams and therefore all 4 courts will be used over a 7 week period. Please watch the club’s website and notice boards for further information and dates.

I personally enjoyed the experience and will rejoin as long as Mr Grimes uses a calculator and not his abacas to work out the Handicaps
